Bran
Just by the border between historical regions Wallachia and Transylvania, you will find Bran with its impressive Bran Castle. Up the hill this castle is highly associated with the legend of Dracula written by Bram Stoker.
Bram Stoker's character was influenced by the Romanian ruler Vlad the Impaler, and although there is no strong link between the castle in Bran and Vlad the Impaler, this castle is known to this day to be the Castle of Dracula as it matches perfectly the description of the legend.
Today, the Castle of Dracula hosts 500.000 visitors annually, everyone coming in an attempt to understand and find more about the roots of this story and the margins between legend and reality.
